Concept Description

Lessons in Art and Failure is a performance of classroom with video. There is chalkboard painted on the wall and a projector and monitor on either side as teaching tools.  The performance is a lesson on the artist-artwork-audience relationship.  Using the work of British artist Stephen Willats as the starting point to a discussion of my own models for art-making.
Throughout, the focus and centrality is on my own self and body as a way to acknowledge the site of the projects that I am speaking of when translated into the context of documentation.
The means of engagement create a referential action that parallels the work in a metaphoric way.
